Polish military adopts multi-layered anti-tank defense strategy
The Polish military is pursuing a strategy of anti-tank diversification to ensure a multi-layered defense. Brigadier General Grzegorz Potrzuski, head of the P5 Planning and Programming Department at the General Staff, stated that modernization efforts will not be limited exclusively to autonomous and unmanned weapon systems.
Instead, the military intends to integrate various technologies to create complementary capabilities. This includes maintaining and developing armored units and anti-tank guided missiles, such as the Spike and Javelin systems, alongside emerging drone and autonomous technologies. The goal is to build a defense system where the loss of one layer, such as electronic warfare or drone connectivity, does not paralyze the entire defense.
Additionally, conceptual work is being conducted regarding the acquisition of long-range missiles for Apache Guardian helicopters to enhance combat capabilities.
