Polish military searches for unidentified object near Malbork

Military radar systems detected an unidentified object near Malbork, Poland, on Tuesday. The object was observed moving in accordance with wind direction and speed. Although aviation was deployed to identify the object, its nature remains undetermined.

In response to the loss of the radar signal, a Ground Search and Rescue Team from the Territorial Defence Forces (WOT) has initiated search operations in the Żuławki Sztumskie area, near the 22nd Tactical Aviation Base. The search is being conducted as a precautionary measure to rule out the possibility that an object fell to the ground.

Colonel Jacek Goryszewski, spokesperson for the Operational Command of the Armed Forces, noted that the radar recording could potentially be attributed to a meteorological anomaly or a flock of birds. The operation involves military personnel, police, and fire services, with helicopter support, and is expected to continue through Thursday.
