Polish ministries withdraw patronage from Warszawa44 Association

The Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism have withdrawn their honorary patronages from the Warszawa44 Association. The decision follows significant criticism regarding the association’s selection of controversial ‘Ambassadors of Memory’ for the Warsaw Uprising commemorations.

The controversy centered on the appointment of Monika Laskowska, known for her presence on OnlyFans, and Marcin Różalski, a supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Although the association ended its cooperation with both individuals following the backlash, the ministries proceeded with the withdrawal of their support.

The Ministry of Sport and Tourism specifically revoked its patronage for the Youth Independence Cup Mazovia 2026 and youth football tournaments commemorating the 82nd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. Under ministry regulations, the association is required to immediately remove all references to these honorary patronages from its communications.
