Polish Ministry of National Defence debunks viral IDF video claims

The Polish Ministry of National Defence has debunked viral social media claims regarding a video showing soldiers with white and red insignia, which some users falsely identified as Polish soldiers serving in the Gaza Strip.

The video, which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on platforms like X, depicts soldiers surrounding a man on a stretcher. Misinformation suggested the men were members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) holding dual Polish-Israeli citizenship.

The Ministry clarified that the white and red colors are likely unit identifiers within the Israeli military, such as those used by the IDF Medical Corps or the 35th Paratroopers Brigade. The Ministry further noted that the individuals in the footage are not members of the Polish Armed Forces, pointing out that Polish soldiers wear the national flag on the sides of their sleeves rather than as shoulder patches. The Ministry emphasized that Polish soldiers are not conducting operations in the Gaza Strip and warned against provocative disinformation efforts.
