Polish Mobile Health Bus to Offer Free Screenings in Częstochowa and Zabrze
The nationwide "Panowie! Jazda po zdrowie!" campaign, run by Fundacja Hasco‑Lek, operates a mobile health station that provides free preventive examinations to men without a referral. In its first phase (24–31 May) the bus visited seven cities – Wrocław, Oleśnica, Wałbrzych, Legnica, Łódź, Stryków and Siechnice – and performed 1,128 tests and consultations, with the highest number (322) in Wrocław. Services include blood‑pressure and pulse checks, single‑lead ECG, body‑composition analysis, ultrasound examinations and lifestyle counselling.
The initiative aims to address the fact that Polish men live on average over seven years less than women and tend to delay medical checks. During the initial stage, asymptomatic serious conditions were detected, such as a 90‑percent carotid artery narrowing and bilateral renal pelvic congestion in young patients. Encouraged by strong demand, the bus will continue its route to the Silesian region at the end of June, stopping in Częstochowa on 29 June and Zabrze on 30 June, offering the same free examinations without prior appointment.
