Polish mobile market sees record operator switches in Q2 2026

Poland’s telecom sector continued to experience strong churn in the second quarter of 2026. According to the regulator Urząd Komunikacji Elektronicznej (UKE), 361,107 phone numbers were transferred between the four largest operators between April and June, bringing the total number of switched numbers in the first half of the year to 740,507. Orange recorded the strongest net gain, adding 36,894 numbers while losing fewer, whereas Plus suffered the steepest decline, losing 67,675 numbers.

Consumer behaviour reflects a growing preference for flexible, contract‑free plans offered by smaller brands and virtual operators (MVNOs). Guidance for users emphasizes that the “best” mobile network depends on individual needs—travelers may prioritize coverage, while heavy data users look for generous data packages. Comparing offers, coverage, contract terms and additional services helps users select a plan that matches their daily usage.

The churn data underlines the importance of transparent pricing and the appeal of no‑long‑term commitments, creating opportunities for new entrants to capture market share from the incumbents.
