Polish mother of murder suspect threatens victim's family in released video

A video broadcast on Polsat's "Państwo w państwie" shows Katarzyna G., mother of Bartosz G., threatening the father of 16‑year‑old Mai Kowalska from Mława and the lawyer representing his family. In the recording she repeatedly says, "If they destroy my son, they will pay with their lives," and pledges to find money to carry out the threats.

Bartosz G. is the main suspect in Mai's brutal murder, which occurred during a school trip in Greece in April 2025. He was extradited to Poland in December 2025 and is currently held in custody. Prosecutors have had the recordings for two months but have not taken preventive measures, according to the program's panel of experts.

The family of the victim says they fear for their safety, and legal representatives echo those concerns. The case has drawn public attention to the aggressive behavior of the suspect’s mother, who has previously posted defamatory comments about the victim online.
