Seven-year-old in Łódź Aquapark Fala fights for life after submersion

A seven‑year‑old boy was found unconscious in a pool at Aquapark Fala in Łódź during a summer swimming course on Monday morning. Rescue teams performed more than 30 minutes of resuscitation and succeeded in reviving the child. He was then transferred to the Institute for Mother’s Health Centre in Łódź, where he remains in critical condition in intensive care.

Prosecutors have opened an investigation into the incident, securing surveillance footage and documentation concerning the lifeguards. Police are examining whether safety procedures were followed and why the boy was not noticed sooner. The swimming course was organized by an external provider, and the aquapark has pledged full cooperation with authorities.

The case highlights concerns about supervision and emergency response at public swimming facilities.
