Polish MP Paulina Matysiak pushes regional marshals to close three‑hour train gap

Member of Parliament Paulina Matysiak lodged an intervention with the marshals of the Łódź and Kuyavian‑Pomeranian voivodeships after passengers reported a three‑hour gap in direct train service on the Łódź‑Kutno‑Włocławek‑Toruń corridor. Between 13:00 and 16:00 no direct train runs from Łódź to Toruń, forcing commuters, students and weekend travelers to transfer or plan trips at inconvenient times. Matysiak noted that the existing service could simply be extended to depart Łódź around 14:00, providing a continuous direct connection without the need for new rolling stock or infrastructure. She also highlighted the limited weekend schedule, with the next suitable train only after 14:30, and called for a more balanced timetable that includes early‑morning and late‑afternoon options.

The request aims to improve daily mobility for residents of Łódź, Kutno, Włocławek, Toruń and surrounding towns, and to reduce reliance on multiple transfers. Coordination between the two regional administrations is required to adjust the timetable and better serve the cross‑voivodeship route.
