Polish MPs clash on Polsat News over national security

A heated confrontation occurred during the “Debata Gozdyry” program on Polsat News between Members of Parliament Alicja Łepkowska-Gołaś (Civic Coalition) and Józefa Szczurek-Żelazko (Law and Justice).

The dispute arose during a discussion regarding Polish-US relations and the postponement of a meeting between Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth. Łepkowska-Gołaś accused the President’s Chancellery and Adam Bielan of prioritizing political interests over national security, suggesting that certain actions could jeopardize Poland’s standing with the United States.

Szczurek-Żelazko strongly protested these claims, accusing Łepkowska-Gołaś of making baseless accusations against the President and acting without evidence. The moderator, Agnieszka Gozdyra, had to intervene as the exchange intensified over whether political maneuvers were impacting Polish security interests.
