Polish Municipal Libraries Launch Summer Programs for Children

The Municipal and Public Library network in Wieluń, Poland, has organized a month‑long summer programme for young readers. Activities include two art contests – “My Day Full of Energy” and “Colors of the Room” – a theatre performance of “Kangurek Florek and the Quest for Golden Jump”, cinema screenings of “Minions and Scary Things”, psycho‑educational workshops on emotions and safety, a circus show by veteran performer Piotr Tomczak, and assertiveness training sessions by the Modra Sowa Education Centre. The programme runs from early July through late August and is supported by library branches in Dąbrowa, Masłowice, Rudzie and Turowie.

Meanwhile, the Koszalin Public Library has opened its “Letnik Pod Bookiem” summer space on the library’s terrace, offering free events for families. Highlights include daily reading sessions for toddlers, Lego Dots graphic‑creation workshops, a “Breakfast on the Grass” picnic with toys and balloons, speed‑dating style “Minder” meet‑ups for adults aged 35‑50, drawing workshops by Zuzanna Kucharska, robotics sessions with “Fotony”, and clay‑making coral workshops. The schedule spans July 7‑30, with many activities requiring prior registration.

Both initiatives aim to promote reading, creativity, and social interaction among children and families during the school break.
