Polish municipalities approve EU tourism project and oppose transport law revisions

The council of Krzynowłoga Mała reversed an earlier refusal and voted to join a county‑wide tourism initiative that will seek European Union co‑funding for bike‑path infrastructure. The program, under the EU “Culture and Tourism” fund, would cover 85 % of costs for modern cyclist service stations (covered shelters, solar charging, LED lighting, repair stations, etc.) to be built in several villages such as Ulatowo‑Adamy and Ostrowe Stańczyki. During the decisive session, starosta Paweł Mostowy stressed the need to “encourage people to discover our gminas” and highlighted the financial terms of the partnership.

Separately, the Association of Rural Municipalities of Poland (ZGW RP) criticised a draft amendment to the public‑transport law for omitting key rural requirements. President Stanisław Jastrzębski urged councils to adopt resolutions and submit positions to the Ministry of Infrastructure, warning that without changes “inequalities in access to public transport will become entrenched” between urban centres and villages. The association stresses that the law should ensure real influence for rural gminas over transport schemes and provide stable financing mechanisms.
