Polish municipalities build new volunteer fire stations

Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą in central Poland purchased a 0.5‑hectare plot from the regional road authority for 273,000 PLN, far below its estimated market value of about 1.4 million PLN. The land will host a new volunteer fire‑brigade station intended to improve emergency response for the town, a nearby military unit and a hospital, and to support medical‑air transport services.

In western Poland, the Gmina Grębocice is completing a modern volunteer fire‑brigade headquarters in Kwielice at a cost of roughly 4.9 million PLN. The facility, slated to open in September, includes a garage for two fire engines, gender‑separated locker rooms, a specialized clothing laundry, and administrative spaces that will serve all volunteer fire units across the municipality, enhancing safety and operational efficiency for residents.

Both projects illustrate local authorities’ investment in public‑safety infrastructure to strengthen emergency services and protect communities.
