Poland celebrates traditional harvest festivals across various regions
Across various regions in Poland, numerous municipalities and provinces are celebrating harvest festivals, known as Dożynki. These traditional events mark the end of the harvest season and serve as a time for farmers to express gratitude for the year's crops.
Key celebrations include the Podlaskie Voivodeship harvest festival in Dołubowo, attended by Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski and Marshal Łukasz Prokorym. Officials emphasized the importance of agricultural stability and food security. Similarly, the Mazovian Voivodeship and Warsaw Archdiocese held their celebrations in Raszyn, featuring traditional ceremonies and musical performances.
Local festivities in towns such as Zebrzydowice, Przykona, Zalesie, Szerzyny, and Krościenko Wyżne featured colorful processions, religious services, and the sharing of traditional bread. Many events included competitions for the most beautiful harvest wreaths, culinary contests, and concerts. These celebrations combine religious gratitude with community integration, honoring the hard work of farmers despite challenges like unpredictable weather and market fluctuations.
