Polish municipalities expand access to life-saving AED defibrillators

Local authorities and community groups in Poland are increasing the availability of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to improve emergency response for sudden cardiac arrest.

In Inowrocław, the city has announced a tender for the supply and installation of additional external AEDs at five key locations, including the Municipal Social Welfare Center, the Kujawy Cultural Center, a skate park, and areas within Solankowy Park. These devices will be housed in weather-resistant capsules and feature voice prompts to assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as a pediatric mode.

In Lubin, Primary School No. 5 has installed a new AED funded through a partnership between the Parents' Council and the city government. The device is intended to serve students, staff, and residents of the surrounding neighborhood. The school has also integrated educational components into the initiative, using instructional videos to teach students how to use the equipment correctly.
