Polish municipalities focus on urban innovation and demographic challenges

Local government representatives and experts in Poland are addressing critical challenges facing cities and municipalities, including demographic shifts, technological transformation, and the green transition.

The Association of Polish Cities is organizing a webinar on August 19, 2026, to discuss how innovation can solve local problems. The session aims to help local authorities define challenges that can be addressed through the GREENOWACJE program, which offers grants averaging 95,000 PLN and up to 120,000 PLN for developing and testing solutions.

Additionally, the Program Council of the Local Trends European Local Government Forum met in Poznań to set the agenda for upcoming regional debates. Key topics identified include the impact of depopulation and aging populations on education, transport, and housing, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence in public administration and climate change adaptation.
