Polish municipalities implement infrastructure and maintenance updates

Municipalities in Poland are implementing local infrastructure and maintenance updates. In the Lubaczów commune, the second stage of main water meter replacement begins on August 28, 2026. This initiative aims to modernize the water supply infrastructure, improve meter reading efficiency, and enable faster detection of leaks and failures. The replacement of main meters is free of charge, though residents may incur costs for replacing faulty valves or sub-meters with invalid legalizations.

In Bytom, the Municipal Services Department (BZUK) is testing new mechanical cleaning equipment on Dworcowa Street. The device features a scrubbing attachment for sweepers, utilizing rotating brushes or discs and water to remove stubborn stains such as grease, dried mud, and spilled liquids. If successful, the equipment will be deployed to clean sidewalks, pedestrian zones, and markets in the city center, as well as the western tunnel.
