Polish municipalities launch hiring for personal and family social assistants

The Gmina Iwanowice Social Welfare Centre announced a recruitment drive for personal assistants to support a man with a disability. Duties include help with dressing, meals, personal hygiene, wheelchair transfers and accompanying the person on walks. Candidates must demonstrate empathy and sufficient physical strength. The role is a commission‑based contract for one hour per weekday, with optional eight‑hour shifts on Saturdays, and is funded by the Solidarity Fund through a program running until December 2026.

The Gmina Stary Brus Social Welfare Centre posted a half‑time family assistant vacancy under an employment contract. Applicants must hold a higher‑education degree in pedagogy, psychology, sociology, family studies or social work, or possess equivalent training combined with at least one year of experience working with children or families. The position involves creating and implementing work plans with families, providing social, psychological and educational support, assisting with household management, job placement, and child protection, while complying with legal and ethical standards.
