Polish municipalities manage hospital funding and local budgets

Several Polish municipalities are addressing financial and administrative challenges. In Ruda Śląska, the City Council approved a 4 million PLN capitalization for the municipal hospital to support digitalization and ensure continuity of care. This follows reports of financial difficulties, including unpaid claims from the National Health Fund (NFZ) totaling 7.7 million PLN.

In Aleksandrów Kujawski, the local hospital is set to pay a 134,000 PLN fine imposed by the NFZ. The penalty stems from an investigation into medical care standards and documentation. The hospital director stated that the facility intends to seek reimbursement from the doctors deemed responsible for the errors.

In Grudziądz, the City Council voted to issue nearly 19 million PLN in bonds to address budget deficits, a move met with opposition from local council members. Meanwhile, in Włocławek, officials adopted a general urban plan that includes restrictions on high-rise and multi-family residential construction near green spaces, despite local controversy regarding development density.
