Polish music icon Kora Jackowska hailed as style pioneer

Marian Lichtman, longtime collaborator on the Polish music scene, remembered Olga "Kora" Jackowska as a groundbreaking artist who helped shape modern Polish pop. He praised her courage, artistic freedom and lasting influence, placing her alongside legends such as Krzysztof Krawczyk, Marek Gerhalt and Zbigniew Wodecki. Lichtman noted that Kora’s fearless approach left a permanent mark on the country’s musical culture.

In a separate interview from 1991, Kora expressed a stark view on marriage, calling the institution "the most dreadful" and emphasizing her desire for personal freedom. She explained that while she and Maanam co‑founder Mark Jackowski remained professional partners after their separation, marriage itself limited her sense of liberty, and she chose not to remarry.
