Polish musicians face public scrutiny over controversial performances

Polish music figures are facing public scrutiny following separate controversies. Singer Skolim has come under fire after a video surfaced showing him performing a song with sexual undertones while surrounded by young children. Psychologist Dorota Zawadzka criticized the performance, noting that children do not need to understand sexual context to memorize and repeat vulgar lyrics. Psychiatrist Mai Herman also commented on the trend of 'pseudo kids friendly' content that contains themes of violence and aggression.

In a separate dispute, a conflict has emerged between Jacek Kawalec, a collaborator with the band Budka Suflera, and disco polo singer Zenon Martyniuk. The tension began after Kawalec performed a parody of Martyniuk's hit, which included claims that Martyniuk performs with a muted microphone. While Budka Suflera's leader, Tomasz Zeliszewski, issued an apology to Martyniuk, Kawalec expressed frustration over the backlash and maintained his stance. Martyniuk has characterized the comments as defamation rather than parody and has indicated he may pursue legal action.
