Polish Paralympic Committee launches nationwide Paralympic Picnics

The Polish Paralympic Committee organised a series of Paralympic Picnics across the country, including in Gorzów, Warsaw, Zamość, Gdynia, Grudziądz and other cities. Thousands of participants, many of them children with parents, attended the events, trying handbikes, biathlon shooting simulators, ski‑trainer devices and table‑tennis stations.

At the Grudziądz picnic on 25 July 2026, held on the Błonia Nadwiślańskie, speakers highlighted the strong interest, especially between 15:00‑17:00. Representative Krzysztof Plewa, who competed in paracole and paracross at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milan‑Cortina, and four‑time Paralympian Witold Skupień answered questions about technique, disability and sport. An accessibility zone allowed wheelchair users and those with white canes to take part.

The programme is tied to the "Lato z Radiem i Telewizją Polską" media series and will continue with upcoming picnics in Rzeszów, Tarnów, Poznań and a repeat in Warsaw.
