Polish parents urged to adopt safety steps for children in crowds and winter outings

Parents in Poland are reminded to keep constant supervision of children in crowded public areas such as beaches, festivals, parks and shopping centres. Guidance advises keeping children within arm's reach, teaching them to stay in one place if lost, and equipping them with identification tags or a recent photo. In the event a child disappears, caregivers should remain calm, search the immediate vicinity, alert venue staff and, if necessary, call emergency services (112) with a detailed description.

For winter walks and trips, experts recommend checking weather forecasts and planning routes that allow for rest and shelter. Children should be dressed in layered clothing that manages moisture, retains heat and protects against wind and snow. Hands, feet, head and neck need special protection, and spare gloves, socks and an extra clothing layer should be packed. A child‑friendly thermos with a warm drink and easy‑to‑clean design is also suggested. Involving children in preparation, such as letting them choose a hat or help fill the thermos, can increase their engagement and safety awareness.
