Polish photography exhibitions showcase historical archives

The National Museum in Warsaw is hosting an exhibition of works by Józef Czechowicz (1818–1888), a 19th-century photographer of Vilnius. The collection includes albumin paper prints and original glass negatives, showcasing the city's architecture and landscapes through the wet plate collodion process. The exhibition, curated by Danuta Jackiewicz, runs from September 15 to December 13, 2026.

In Chojnice, photographer and documentarian Zbigniew Prochowski is presenting an exhibition titled ‘Odkurzone fotografie’ (Dusted Photographs) as part of the 2026 Cities Tournament. The display features archival images documenting the historical televised Cities Tournament between Chojnice and Dzierżoniów from the 1970s and 1980s, as well as Prochowski's documentation of regional transformations and nature.
