Polish physicians warn of payment delays in public hospitals
The All-Poland Trade Union of Physicians (OZZL) has issued an alert regarding increasing irregularities in payments to doctors working under contracts. According to the union, many hospitals are struggling to settle debts on time, with some facilities providing only partial payments or delaying settlements for several months.
Grażyna Cebula-Kubat, chair of the OZZL, warned that these delays force physicians to manage significant tax and social security obligations using their own funds before receiving payment for their services. The union cautioned that if these financial uncertainties persist, medical professionals may migrate from the public healthcare system to the private sector in search of greater predictability.
