Polish tennis players post mixed results and injuries across ITF, national and WTA events

Polish players featured in several ITF tournaments this week. Tomasz Berkieta advanced to the second round in Uslar, Germany, while Martyna Kubka recorded a straight‑sets win in Vitoria‑Gasteiz, Spain. Other Polish competitors, including Jan Werbliński, Daria Kuczer and Martyna Zeremba, were eliminated in early rounds.

The 100th LOTTO National Championships in Gdynia saw favorites dominate the early stages. Weronika Ewald claimed a three‑set victory to reach the later rounds, and other rising stars such as Amelia Paszun and Barbara Kostecka posted strong wins. The event was supported by the Polish Ministry of Sport and local sponsors.

Katarzyna Kawa, after a first‑round loss in the Bastad challenger, rebounded at the WTA 250 event in Romania, defeating Simonă Waltert to reach the quarter‑finals before falling to Panna Udvardy. She is scheduled to compete in the upcoming MSC Hamburg Ladies Open.

Maja Chwalińska suffered a serious ankle injury at Wimbledon, which forced her to withdraw from the Jassy tournament and subsequently from the Hamburg WTA 250 event. Her team indicated a return to competition is unlikely before August, with future participation planned for events in Toronto, Cincinnati, Guadalajara and the US Open.
