Polish players gear up for Enea Poznań Open and Wimbledon wild‑card push
The Enea Poznań Open, a Challenger tournament in Poland, begins on Monday 15 June 2026. Three Polish players—Maks Kaśnikowski, Tomasz Berkieta and Daniel Michalski—received wild‑cards and will compete in the main draw, each facing higher‑ranked opponents. Organisers hope the three can reach at least the quarter‑finals, with Kaśnikowski, the 2024 champion, slated to meet Italy’s Lorenzo Giustino in the first round.
Separately, after a strong showing at Roland Garros, Poland’s Maja Chwalińska is lobbying for a wild‑card entry into Wimbledon (29 June‑12 July 2026). Two wild‑cards are available, with Chwalińska, Venus Williams and Serena Williams listed as potential recipients. Former player Tim Henman and John McEnroe have voiced support. The decision is due on 17 June; if granted, Chwalińska will join the 32‑player main draw, otherwise she must play the qualifying rounds.
