Polish police and KRUS promote farm safety campaign
The Wieruszów police department urged motorists operating agricultural tractors to obey the same traffic rules as other drivers, emphasizing proper licensing, vehicle inspections, functional lighting, sobriety and the need to keep children away from operating machinery. Deputy Commissioner Kamil Ostrycharz highlighted the risk of accidents involving young helpers on farms.
At the same time, the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) launched the 23rd "Safe Farm" competition to encourage safe working practices on Polish farms. The contest, supported by President Karol Nawrocki and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, offers audits, awards and a tractor for the final stage winner. Applications are accepted until 30 April 2026. KRUS also runs a preventive campaign titled “Rola rolnika, by upadku unikał” to spread guidance on avoiding falls and other farm‑related injuries.
