Polish police arrest two suspects after 64‑year‑old loses 175,000 zł in fraud

A 64‑year‑old resident of Policki County was deceived by a man posing as an investment‑firm employee and lost nearly 175,000 zł. The fraudster used social‑engineering tactics, pressuring the victim with a false sense of urgency. Police from the Powiatowa Komenda Policji in Polic, together with officers from the Szczecin provincial command, tracked the perpetrators. A 21‑year‑old and a 26‑year‑old were detained while attempting to extort an additional 304,000 zł from the same victim. Both suspects have been charged and face up to eight years in prison.
