Polish police mark national Police Day with ceremonies and promotions
Across Poland, police forces celebrated the annual Police Day with official ceremonies, awards and a series of promotions. In Pisz, the regional celebration combined a mass with a flag‑raising ceremony and the presentation of a new unit flag, attended by senior police officials and local dignitaries. In Chodzież, a gathering at the local cultural centre featured 16 promotions to higher ranks, the awarding of medals for blood donation and a special commemoration of the 100‑year anniversary of district police units.
Similar events took place in Skoki, where district officers received honors on the centenary of the district police role, and in Gliwice, where a large public festival included oath‑taking, promotions, state decorations and outreach activities for families. Wrocław hosted the voivodeship‑level celebration at the historic Hala Stulecia, with participation from Polish parliamentary representatives and foreign police delegations, highlighting both the 107th anniversary of the state police and the centenary of police sport. All ceremonies underscored the police's commitment to public safety and community trust.
