Polish Police conduct service dog certifications and national championships

The Polish Police are conducting major activities related to the training and certification of service dogs. In the Silesian garrison, 27 service dogs across various categories—including patrol, tracking, and explosive detection—underwent annual inspections and certification. Evaluators assessed obedience, handler-dog cooperation, defense, and scent work. All participating dogs successfully received certifications for daily police duties.

Simultaneously, the XXIII Police Cynology Championships have commenced in Legionowo. Organized by the Police Training Center, the four-day event features 17 teams from 16 provincial police headquarters and the Capital Police Command. The competition includes participants from the Border Guard, State Protection Service, Military Gendarmerie, Prison Service, and National Revenue Agency, as well as guest delegations from Lithuania and the Czech Republic. The championships focus on practical operational scenarios such as searching vehicles, mass transit, and rooms, with a specific emphasis on detecting narcotics and explosives.
