Polish police dismantle large cannabis farm in Lublin region

Police in the Biłgoraj County of Poland’s Lublin Voivodeship seized a concealed indoor cannabis plantation hidden in a specially equipped tunnel. The operation uncovered nearly 300 cannabis plants and about 12 kg of dried material. Three members of a drug‑trafficking gang – two men aged 50 and 38 and a 35‑year‑old woman – were arrested and charged with possession of significant quantities of narcotics and equipment for their production. Authorities reported that the cultivation was of high‑potency varieties, not industrial hemp, and that the tunnel was fitted with specialized lighting and climate control.

The raid was part of a broader effort to combat organized drug production in the region. The suspects face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. The case highlights the use of sophisticated underground facilities for illicit drug cultivation in rural Poland.
