Polish police in Poznań promote officers, rescue newborn, and expand fleet

In Poznań, 55 police officers were promoted to the rank of junior aspirant and one to sergeant, marking the culmination of intensive training for the regional police force. The ceremony, attended by senior officials, highlighted the growing expertise within the Wielkopolska police.

Separately, officers from the Poznań‑North precinct saved a three‑day‑old infant who had stopped breathing at a fuel station on June 26. Prompt first‑aid actions and rapid emergency response restored the child’s breathing, underscoring the importance of medical training for police personnel.

Meanwhile, the national police are undergoing a major modernization of their vehicle fleet. Investments of 648 million zloty in 2024 and an additional 617 million zloty in 2025 have funded hundreds of new patrol cars and specialized units, with a broader budget of over 7.3 billion zloty planned through 2029 to further improve public safety and operational efficiency.
