Polish police intervene in drunk cyclist crash and false knife‑alarm incident

In Rumia, a police officer from the Wejherowo precinct, Patrycja Zdziebłowska, provided first aid to a cyclist who had fallen on Kamienna Street after drinking about a litre of vodka. The rider suffered a head injury, was found with a blood‑alcohol level of 1.44 mg/L (approximately 3 ‰), and was taken to hospital. Police prepared documentation for a possible court case on riding under the influence, which could carry a fine of 2,500 zł.

Separately, in Siemianowice Śląskie, a 43‑year‑old woman called emergency services claiming she had been stabbed. Police and medical teams responded, but the woman later admitted the story was fabricated to obtain a ride home. An alcohol test showed she had nearly two promiles in her system. She now faces a fine of up to 1,500 zł for making a false emergency call, and was taken to a sobering centre.
