Poland issues new emergency response protocols for air threats
The Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA) has released new response instructions and procedures for schools, kindergartens, and workplaces regarding air attack threats. These guidelines, developed with the State Fire Service, detail how to recognize alarm signals, such as a three-minute modulated siren, and outline three levels of warning: vigilance, readiness, and alarm.
School directors are tasked with developing specific safety procedures in consultation with governing bodies to identify shelters for students and staff. In workplaces, employers are advised to designate communication leads and establish clear protocols for evacuation or work interruption, particularly when there is a direct threat to life or health.
Parallel to these institutional updates, local police initiatives are focusing on community safety through educational workshops for youth regarding criminal responsibility and cybersecurity. However, recent survey data reveals a gap in individual preparedness, with 39 percent of Poles reporting no crisis equipment and only 9 percent having a packed evacuation backpack.
