Polish police launch safety workshops for seniors

Police departments in Poland are conducting educational and preventive workshops aimed at increasing the safety of senior citizens.

In Bydgoszcz-Fordon, officers held two-day lectures at the ‘Stary Fordon’ Senior Center. The sessions focused on daily safety issues and received formal thanks from local senior associations for their professional and accessible approach to discussing age-related security concerns.

In the Gorlice County, the police are implementing intensive educational activities in clubs and care centers to protect the elderly from various threats. These sessions cover common fraud schemes, such as the ‘grandchild’ or ‘police officer’ scams, as well as financial protection against uncertain investments. Additionally, officers provide guidance on safe internet and online banking usage, personal data protection, and road safety.

Support initiatives in the Małopolska region include the ‘Małopolski Tele-Anioł’ project, which provides seniors with safety bracelets equipped with GPS and alarm buttons for 24-hour medical and emergency assistance.
