Various criminal incidents and law enforcement activities have been reported across Poland. In Kraków, police have detained several individuals, including minors, following a fatal beating of a 36-year-old man. In Szczecinek, two men were arrested for a robbery where they inadvertently left behind a backpack containing a photograph that led to their identification.
Other notable incidents include the arrest of two men in Karnin after a bus burglary was caught on a live internet stream, and the detention of three teenagers in Gliwice who robbed beachgoers before being robbed themselves by older accomplices. In Kalisz, two men were caught on CCTV stealing donations from church collection boxes.
Law enforcement also reported several successful operations involving fugitives: a 49-year-old man evading sentence since 2023 was caught in the Łuków district, a 31-year-old was apprehended in Krośniewice, and a 42-year-old driving with multiple bans was arrested in Grudziądz. Additionally, police in Gdańsk are searching for suspects involved in a nationality-based attack on two Ukrainian citizens, and in Zielona Góra, a minor was identified after posting videos of dangerous scooter riding online.
On a broader scale, the Polish police are marking the 100th anniversary of the district officer (dzielnicowy) position, noting that approximately 8,000 officers currently serve in this capacity across 8,090 service regions.
