Polish police promote safe‑summer safety lessons to children in Rumia and Jaworzno

Police officers in Rumia met with nearly 100 preschoolers as part of the nationwide “Safe Summer” programme, teaching basic road‑safety rules such as stopping before crosswalks, looking both ways and listening to adults. The children received a “Little Police Officer” certificate and a fingerprint souvenir.

In Jaworzno, municipal police together with a sanitary‑epidemiological officer visited children at half‑camp sessions and a crisis‑intervention centre. They covered safety on roads, near water and in the mountains, emphasizing helmet use for scooters and bikes, and gave health advice on tick bites, sun exposure and safe outdoor activities. A demonstration with special glasses showed the visual effects of alcohol and drugs.

Both events aim to raise awareness among children and families about safe behaviour during the summer holidays and are part of an ongoing nationwide campaign.
