Polish Police reaches record employment levels

The Polish Police has reached a record employment level, with nearly 104,000 officers currently in service. Recent data shows a significant decrease in vacancies, which have dropped to approximately 6.11 percent, leaving roughly 6,760 positions unfilled. This is a notable improvement compared to September 2024, when the vacancy rate stood at 12.59 percent with over 13,700 open positions.

Recent recruitment efforts have been successful, with 535 new recruits recently joining the force, including 120 students from the Police Academy in Szczytno. Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 4,264 new officers have joined the service.

Several factors have contributed to this trend, including modernized recruitment processes such as electronic document submission via ePUAP and online interviews. Additionally, new housing benefits introduced in July 2025, ranging from 900 to 1,800 PLN monthly depending on the location, have supported the workforce.
