Polish Police Rescue 15‑Year‑Old After Online Suicide Threat
Police officers from the Strzelce Opolskie and Lębork districts located a 15‑year‑old girl who had posted an online message indicating a strong intent to take her own life. After receiving a tip from the Central Cyber Threats Unit, the Strzelce Opolskie duty officer, St. asp. Piotr Morawski, used limited information – an email address and partial details – to trace the teenager’s family. Collaboration with Lębork duty officer asp. Bartosz Fuczka led investigators to the girl’s mother’s residence in Lębork, where the teenager was found. Medical responders assessed her condition and arranged transport to a hospital for specialist care.
The operation highlighted the importance of rapid police coordination, data analysis, and inter‑departmental cooperation in preventing a potential suicide. The case underscores the role of law‑enforcement agencies in responding to mental‑health emergencies communicated through digital platforms.
