Polish police warn of heat danger for children and pets left in parked cars
Police officers in Puck, Poland, issued a warning that leaving children or animals in a vehicle during hot weather can quickly become life‑threatening. The interior of a closed car heats faster than many drivers expect, leading to dehydration, heatstroke, loss of consciousness, or even death. Officers advise checking rear seats, trunks and carriers, keeping windows slightly open, and calling 112 immediately if a person or pet appears trapped.
In a separate incident in Goleniow, police broke a car window to rescue a nearly one‑year‑old child who had been accidentally locked inside with the keys on a scorching day. The rapid response prevented any injury, and the police reiterated the 112 emergency number for similar heat‑related entrapments.
