Polish political parties signal shifts in electoral alliances and projections

Political shifts in Poland are highlighted by changes in electoral projections and potential coalition ruptures. In the Rybnik district (District 30), projections indicate a significant shift in mandate distribution. While Law and Justice (PiS) secured four mandates in 2023, forecasts suggest they could drop to two. Conversely, Civic Coalition (KO) is projected to increase its seat count from three to four, potentially becoming the strongest force in the district.

Simultaneously, the Polish People's Party (PSL) has declared it will not run on joint lists with Civic Coalition in the upcoming parliamentary elections. PSL Vice President Urszula Pasławska stated that the party identifies as a center-right, conservative formation, criticizing Platforma Obywatelska for having "turned strongly to the left." Pasławska also expressed skepticism regarding future cooperation with Polska 2050, noting that the party's political direction remains uncertain.
