Kraków mayoral election: Gibała leads in polls

The upcoming mayoral elections in Kraków are shaping up to be a contest between independent candidate Łukasz Gibała and Monika Piątkowska, the joint candidate for Koalicja Obywatelska and PSL. Polling from IBRiS and OGB indicates that Gibała is the current frontrunner, potentially leading in both the first round and a projected second-round runoff.

In the first round, Gibała holds approximately 27.2% to 32.88% of the vote, while Piątkowska follows with 23.5% to 27.78%. Michał Drewnicki, representing PiS, currently sits in third place with support ranging from 15.4% to 16.11%. A second-round matchup between Gibała and Piątkowska is highly anticipated, with one poll suggesting Gibała could secure over 60% of the vote in a runoff.

Candidate financial disclosures have also drawn attention. Łukasz Gibała reported assets including a residence valued at 3.8 million PLN and securities exceeding 1.4 million PLN. Monika Piątkowska declared savings, real estate, and various stocks and investment funds.
