Polish politicians clash over military readiness and defense infrastructure

A political dispute has emerged in Poland between Mariusz Błaszczak, a representative of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, and Sławomir Mentzen, a leader of the Confederation party, regarding the state of the Polish Armed Forces.

Mentzen accused the previous PiS administration of leading the military into a state of collapse, specifically citing a lack of infrastructure for training reserves. He questioned the government's ability to train personnel effectively and demanded the disclosure of classified reports concerning the military's condition and the extent of weapons and ammunition provided to Ukraine.

Błaszczak, the former Minister of National Defense, dismissed these claims as manipulation. He asserted that his party rebuilt the Polish military “from the ruins” and established defense mechanisms starting from the borders rather than just the Vistula line. He defended the party's record on military unit reconstruction and defense readiness.
