Polish politicians clash over support for Donald Trump
Polish political figures are engaged in a heated debate regarding the relationship between domestic politicians and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Roman Giertych, a member of the Civic Coalition (KO), criticized Law and Justice (PiS) politicians for their perceived subservience to Trump. Giertych accused the party of undermining relations with real allies and suggested that Trump’s policies could potentially compromise Polish interests in favor of Russia. He specifically targeted Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Bureau, questioning the strategic implications of supporting the U.S. President.
Separately, Polish MP Dominika Chorosińska drew criticism from Sister Tymoteusz Gil following a social media post. Chorosińska shared footage of Catholic bishops praying for Donald Trump in the Oval Office, describing it as a “beautiful and expressive moment.” Sister Gil responded by criticizing the MP’s enthusiasm and highlighting the ongoing suffering of innocent people in Ukraine.
