Polish politicians walk out of Polsat studio over Zbigniew Ziobro
Two Polish politicians, MEP Michał Wawrykiewicz and MP Żaneta Cwalina-Śliwowska, walked out of a Polsat News program, “Debata Gozdyry,” following the decision to include former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro as an expert.
Wawrykiewicz, a member of the Civic Coalition, refused to participate in a discussion with Ziobro, whom he characterized as a criminal fugitive. He stated he would not sit at the same table with someone facing charges from the Polish prosecution.
Similarly, Żaneta Cwalina-Śliwowska, an MP from Ostrołęka, left the studio, stating she could not participate in a debate regarding the rule of law with an individual accused of violating it. She criticized the broadcaster for inviting a person who faces legal charges and is currently in the United States.
Ziobro, who has been in the U.S. for several months, is facing charges related to irregularities in the Justice Fund. A court has issued a binding arrest warrant, and an extradition request has been submitted to American authorities.
