Polish President Karol Nawrocki Hosts Baltic and Romanian Leaders at Jurata Summit

Polish President Karol Nawrocki invited the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Romania to an informal summit at the presidential residence in Jurata. The leaders – Gitanas Nausėda, Edgars Rinkēvičs, Alar Karis and Nicușor Dan – discussed joint positions ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, emphasizing the need to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank, improve defence capabilities, and enhance security in the Baltic and Black Sea regions. Topics also covered trans‑Atlantic relations, the future of the European Union, and plans for regional energy and transport infrastructure. Lithuania’s president offered to mediate the ongoing Poland‑Ukraine dispute and reiterated support for Ukraine amid Russia’s war. The event also included meetings of the first ladies, with Poland’s Marta Nawrocka drawing attention for her classic attire. The participants affirmed cooperation within the Three‑Sea Initiative and the Bucharest Nine format, signalling coordinated policy ahead of upcoming NATO talks.
