Polish President Karol Nawrocki stays neutral amid PiS internal split

President Karol Nawrocki has emphasized that he never intended to be a president for all Poles, but rather to represent the Polish right. He says the ongoing conflict within the Law and Justice (PiS) party does not concern him and he will maintain a neutral stance, aiming to preserve broad support for a future re‑election.

Vice‑Marshal Szymon Hołownia warned that the political momentum behind Nawrocki could falter, noting the recent split in PiS as a potentially destabilising development. He suggested the division may reshape Poland’s parliamentary landscape ahead of the 2027 elections and questioned the party’s long‑term viability, while also raising doubts about the continued leadership of Jarosław Kaczyński.
