Polish President promotes 21 officers to general and admiral ranks

During the celebrations of Polish Armed Forces Day in Warsaw on August 15, President Karol Nawrocki appointed 21 officers to general and admiral ranks.

Among the promoted officers is Krzysztof Szymaniec, who was appointed brigadier general. Szymaniec currently serves as the rector-commander of the Air Force Academy in Dęblin. His career has been heavily focused on transport aviation, including command roles at the 33rd and 3rd Transport Aviation Bases and service in Afghanistan. He also participated in the 2021 evacuation of Polish citizens from Kabul.

Another newly promoted brigadier general is Dariusz Kwiatkowski, an expert in cryptology and cybersecurity. Kwiatkowski serves as the Deputy Commander of the Cyber Defense Forces Component for Cryptology. He has played a significant role in implementing NATO cryptographic standards within the Polish Armed Forces and represents Poland in international cybersecurity working groups.
