Polish public opinion split on weapons for Ukraine, but backs firms' role in post‑war rebuilding

A July 2026 SW Research poll of 800 Polish adults found that 42.2 % believe sending weapons to Ukraine does not improve Poland’s security, while 38.5 % disagree and 19.2 % have no opinion. Skepticism was higher among women, people aged 35‑49, those with vocational education, lower‑income earners and residents of mid‑size cities.

In a separate United Surveys by IBRiS poll of 1,000 Poles, 76.4 % said Polish companies should receive priority in contracts for Ukraine’s post‑war reconstruction. Support was strong across the political spectrum, with 68 % of respondents backing the government coalition and 82 % of opposition respondents agreeing. A minority (11.2 %) opposed giving Polish firms priority.

Both surveys underline a nuanced Polish stance: cautious about direct military aid to Ukraine while favoring economic involvement in its rebuilding.
